Damn Macs and all their dongles. So much cable clutter on my desk as result. Had to bring my mechanical back home because the one I have doesn’t support Apple’s stupid USB filter so it keeps skipping keys. And I lost a keycap in transit.

Do you not normally use Macs? Also this is my workstation for class at home.

Nope... my daily driver at home is my newly built Ryzen 3700X with 8 cores and 16 threads for the fraction of what Apple charges for similar horsepower . The MacBook Pro was given by work and I hate the damn thing. It’s brand new and already it failed to boot a few times after updates , and that lousy keyboard.
And quite frankly for my line of work a PC with Linux or Windows + WSL and Visual Studio Code works better.

Love these monitors. Got them used from a liquidator for cheap (200 for both, shipped) and they are 16:10 too.

I’ve even had issues with an iMac not seeing the keyboard that came with it. I had to drop ship a Logitech one to the user. On my work from home days I go from a Dell workstation with two 27” monitors to a docked HP laptop with two 24s. Not ideal but I can remote in to my work unit if necessary.

I actually work out of a vendor’s office since we have a project going on with them. Had to hunt down the only 1920x1200 24" monitor around , otherwise I would be stuck with a 27" 1920x1080 ** pukes** .

What I really miss when I work from home is my sweet ergo office chair. The one I have at home doesn’t even compare.

I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one to prefer 1920 x 1200. I have a few 27s, but the lower resolution drives me buggy. I also keep a few 1200 x 1600 monitors around for reading full pages, rotated into portrait mode, of course.

I’m part of a skeleton crew at work starting tomorrow. I’m one of 3 people in my department unable to work from home (100% of what I am doing right now requires the lab space at work). It’s going to be interesting with such a quiet office.

It was already like that for us the past Friday.
Most of the people from my own office were banned from coming in to the satellite vendor office I was working out of, since there was a case in that building. This was right before there was an official notice corporate-wide to tell us to work from ho me. We counted less than 10 people that day.

The aspect was definitely a gripe, but for those monitors it was the density. 1080p on 27" was plain gross. For that size I accept no less than 2560x1600.

Hey man, I'm working on a 23" 1400x900 right now. And that's my big monitor.

That would be a nice resolution, but it might be a little while before I have anything like that. I think the most expensive monitor I have I purchased for $30, with most of them in the $5-10 range...

Actually I’ve been working with dual 19" 1440x900 for quite some time before. At least it’s still 16:10.
